Xbox 360 games that have Xbox One versions but not backwards compatible?!?!?!

I own Resident Evil 6, Arkham Asylum, and Arkham City for Xbox 360. There are Xbox One versions that you can buy but you can't pop in the 360 disc and play? Just make the One version available to those who own the 360 version. Why go through all the effort
of making the 360 version run on the One if they can just give you the One version?

Are you looking for the 360 version or the One version?

If it's the 360 version of the game, that game is not backwards compatible so it is not playable on the One. (You can see a list of backwards compatible games here.

Depends on which GTA game.

If it was GTA V, there is a 360 version and an Xbox One version. The 360 version is not backward compatible to be playable on an Xbox One. Unless the publisher was offering a deal at the time - purchase one version and receive the other, then no.

If it was GTA IV, that one is on the list of backward compatible games that are playable on an Xbox One.

In some situations, both games are actually set up differently. I'm not sure if that's the same case as the ones you've listed. Some publishers have offered free upgrades for people who own the 360 version, but it's usually a limited time offer and is down
to the publishers.
