    Xbox 360 games not working on Xbox One S


    Everything but 360 games are working, and I did a factory reset, changed the DNS and still nothing. Has my console gone bad?

    I was able to fix my issue by joining the insider program and updating the console through it.

    A Kinect is an accessory for an Xbox 360 and an Xbox One, not a console itself. If it's an Xbox One game, it can be played on an Xbox One or Xbox One S. If he has an Xbox 360, it will not work.

    All Xbox one games will work on the One S and the One X. As they are the same generation of console.

    Xbox 360 games that is backward compatible will also play on the Xbox One, S and the X.

    Hi,

    In short, Drives formatted for Xbox One only work on Xbox One and Series X|S, they don't work on Xbox 360.

    A slightly longer explanation is that the formatting and file system is different. Even if the format and file system were the same, the games downloaded on an Xbox One still wouldn't work on an Xbox 360 as they are actually coded differently. Even the Xbox 360 games wouldn't work as they have been reprogrammed to only work on Xbox One/Series X|S.

    If you have your Xbox 360 connected to Xbox Live you will need to download these games and apps directly via that system. It's not possible to transfer them between generations.
