Xbox 360 games backwards compatible with Xbox OneS

I recently received an Xbox One S for Christmas, I have a few Xbox 360 games that are on the list for backwards compatibility. Halo 4 and Halo Reach are the ones I am most concerned with as I play them more often. However the Xbox won't read them, do I need
to have an internet connection to play these discs (I'm currently offline)? Is there some sort of secret Xbox compatibility magician who can help?

only way to do that is through the backwards compatible games - xbox one and 360 games don't mix unfortunately.

What happened to all my games I bought on the Xbox 360 marketplace?

Only games that are backwards compatible will show up for redownload. Not all 360 games are backwards compatible (like the ones you listed). You can see a list of backwards compatible games here - www.xbox.com/.../backward-compatibility

Hi there,

you will need an internet connection in order to Install these games, the games won't be run from the disc, but backward compatible versions will be downloaded and installed. You will require the disc to play the games after they were installed though.

Also since you are offline your console could also need an update itself to make backward compatibility work.

If you are trying to play the game on a Xbox 360 or a Xbox One, sorry to say but the game is not backward compatible for either console. You can check the full list of games that are here.

If it's backwards compatible it would only be available on the Xbox One as a backwards compatible game. Not on the 360

There are backwards compatible games available for the 360. Black is one of them.

If you purchase an Xbox 360 Game that is
compatible with Xbox One, you will be able to access the content on the Xbox One. Unfortunately, that game is not in the backwards compatible library.
