Xbox 360 - game won't work after update

we loaded minecraft to play and an automatic update launched. After the update the player 1 controller no longer works correctly. Can't use the right stick to look around. Also the screen is very dark. We tried deleting the update but it still doesn't work.
The controller works fine in other games and has worked fine in minecraft until the update. Any ideas? Please help.

My Xbox won't read the new games after installing update!

I'm having problems with my Xbox 360 it won't read the new games after installing the new update.

The old games i have they work fine, but not the new games!

Controller won't work after update.

other half usually uses wired controller with a headset plugged in and then a wireless controller to play. Thought I would be nice today and update his wireless so he can use the audio adapter and not need the wired controller. Plugged it all in and the
update failed. It said to remove the battery and try again. Did this and now the controller won't switch on. Have tried doing a hard reset of the Xbox, unplugged everything. Tried speaking with chat support, no help and gave up after half hour a sat all we
had accomplished was that we had 2 controllers. Ambassadors said to plug it into a pc but we don't have a working one. I'm now getting shouted at as his controllers not working, xbox support twitter page say to see if it's under warranty but other half doesn't
think it is and I cant register is as I won't recognise my phone number so can't check anyways. Anyone got any idea how to fix this short of having to buy a new controller?

 

The guy , if the game screen has little visible , go to help and options , after settings and graphics , and then gamma increasing to 100% , and about player 1 go to help and options , after settings and game options , and increase up to 145%
