Xbox 360 game save not working on other Xbox one

Currently in my house I have two xboxes. An xbox one and an xbox one x. I was playing fable 3 on my xbox one and decided I wanted to play it on the one x. When I started the game up on my one x it prompted me to start a new game. Why hasn’t my save data
synced and how can i fix it?

Did you save the File on the 360 to the Cloud? In order for the Xbox one to read the save file it needs to be in the cloud save section.

If you're signing in on the same profile it should sync, As long as the new Xbox has a gold subscription linked to it. Did you make the new Xbox your home Xbox or is it attached to someone else ?

I saved the game manually before I quit it and it’s also been a few hours since I stopped playing so I would have thought it would have uploaded by now. I guess I’ll try it again tomorrow and see if it works.

You must turn on cloud saves for Xbox 360 and I'm not sure if this can be done on the Xbox one:

From the Xbox Dashboard, go to settings, and then select System.
Select Storage, and then select Cloud Saved Games.
Select Enable Cloud Saved Games.

Then once that's on you should be able to open the game up and have it download the save from the other console that's stored in the cloud.

I'm not sure if you have to delete the local save that already exists on the Xbox one X, though, for this to work.

I had this issue with Fable 2 two weeks ago.

I had to manually save my game because for some reason the auto save feature wasn't syncing.

Also found out save data sync when playing BC games take a little longer to hit the cloud. You can jump from one Xbox to another right away.
