Xbox 360 game downloaded on Xbox One X not letting me same by progress

Just find a xbox 360 console and sign in there once with your current account. After that you will have no issues

No I just want to play New Vegas and Oblivion on Xbox One X but it won't let me save my progress or connect to Xbox Live at all on any 360 games that I downloaded with my game pass ultimate. That's the error message I keep getting when I try.

You have three options:

• Buy a replacement Xbox 360
• Buy an Xbox One - and play your games that are BC
• Wait until the Series X releases. The Series X is due to have the same backwards compatibility with 360 and original Xbox games the the Xbox One has.

As long as you use the same account on one of these other consoles you can download them again. But you can not download these games to a PC.

Don't worry, the progress would be the same as the one you made through Xbox Cloud Gaming as long as you download the game on an Xbox console (since the version of the game that runs in the cloud is the same as the one that runs on Xbox consoles).

On the other hand, if you download it on a PC, it will depend on the game, as progress between the console or Xbox Cloud Gaming version of the game is transferred to the PC version if the game is part of the Xbox Play Anywhere catalog:

If the game is part of Xbox Play Anywhere, then you will have the same progress on PC, and if it is not part of the catalog, unfortunately, the progress is different between both platforms.

I'm sorry to hear you have been experiencing issues launching Castle of Illusion.

To clarify, have you already signed in to your Xbox 360 profile? I believe this might be the reason why you can't go past the "Press Start to Play" screen.

Xbox 360 games run on an "emulated" version of the Xbox 360 system and games require you to download your Xbox 360 profile to be able to play and save your game progress, even if you logged into your Xbox One/Series S/X profile before launching the game. It might sound a bit confusing, but all you'd need to do is press the "View" and "Menu" buttons at the same time to open the guide, select Download profile > Download profile, and sign in using the *same* credentials you use to sign in to your profile on your Xbox Series S. and other Xbox/Microsoft platforms.
