Xbox 360 Game disc with a circle in the middle

Have you moved or accidently knocked the console with the disc inside by any chance? If you have then that is why there is a circle in the middle of your disc. That is also why the disc wont work.

Newer discs are thinner, and cheaper. Check the inside circle of the disc. Are there any discolourations? Cracks? Splotches? It needs to be firm and clear. Discs tend to deteriorate very quickly these days. I have a game that's a couple of years old, not
a single scratch on it, but my console no longer reads it because the middle plastic is separating. COD games, at least in my experience suffer from this.

Hey everyone, let's take a step back and cool our socks for a moment. There are two ways that you can play games: 1) buy a disc version and 2) purchase the digital copy.



While having a disc copy of the game does not allow you to download a digital version, you can, however, install the game to your hard drive from the disc. This appears to be what you're referring to, shrimp.

@ShrimpShark You have NEVER "Downloaded" the game to use with a broken disc.

You have simply INSTALLED the game from the disc itself.

This is basic 101 stuff.

Not Official Xbox support, but I will chime in and say that BG is 100% correct on this. You may
install a game to your hard drive from the disc. After doing so, the console will use your disc for validation, then proceed to run the game from the HDD. You can
not download a digital copy of the game without paying for it, regardless of whether or not you own a hard copy. This is true for
all games.
