Xbox 360 fried with overvoltage. Any fixes?

To put it shortly, the power supply to the Xbox 360 S had a bite in the cord after the brick, and when it kinked, I believe the voltage wire touched one of the others and sent a surge of power to a part of the Xbox that wasn't built to handle it.

The console itself is dead. Made a click and snapped off. Not a sign of life since.

I have endless tools, pen soldering ability, and the console is stripped to the motherboard.

To cut out some answers, I'm not bringing it anywhere, it doesn't need a different power supply, and I'm intent on figuring it out here at the house. People have said it's hard to determine what goes wrong when an overvoltage hits it. Well, list them off. I'll go through them all. Point me circuits, wires, soldering nodes, anything on this green board that may have been fried from the Power Supply's voltage. Thank you!

    :)

    voltage protector

    Hi,

the first generation of xbox one consoles has an overvoltage protection in the power supply. The Xbox one S and X have an overvoltage protection directly built in. so no overvoltage protection is actually necessary anymore. in the past there were probably
also problems in connection with the X and an external overvoltage protection.

All information you can find here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/about-power-supply

Xbox 360 S possibly got fried. Any fix?

Hello Talion1678! I'm Claus, an Independent Microsoft Community Consultant for Xbox! Glad to be able to help you!

Unfortunately, it is hard to pinpoint what exactly could go bad when your console is hit with an overvoltage. Usually, there are devices that are used to protect the hardware from overvoltage, but depending on how high the voltage was, not even that could have been able to withstand the voltage spike. Given that your console is an Xbox 360 S, you should be able to test with another power supply unit (keeping in mind that the power supply from the Xbox 360 Arcarde consoles, which are white, aren't compatible with the Xbox 360 S). A good idea would be to take the entire console and power supply to a console repair store (or even computer repair store) that can work with this kind of device.

Power supply has dim orange light

Without numbers, any reply can only be based in speculation. One reason for failure can be something that trips an overvoltage protection circuit. Or a part in that circuit slowly failing - a threshold voltage is slowly changing.

Without numbers, then shotgunning is the only alternative. If a failing overvoltage circuit exist, then replace the power brick - and hope.

    Xbox dead need help..

I am sorry to say but if you plugged in your 360 from a different country like America where the Voltage for outlets is 110V you basically fried your Xbox 360 because China is 220V.

Basically you fried your Xbox 360. Sorry man.
