Xbox 360 freezing when connecting to Live and unable to download update

So whenever I attempt to connect to Live, my 360 freezes for a short while before finally telling me I need to update. Upon trying to update, it informs me that it cannot download the update. Anybody know what's going on?

Anyone else unable to sign into xbox live when playing the 360 games?

When pressing both the Menu and View buttons to bring up the mini guide it just says connect to xbox live.

Probably Xbox Live as usual. You can download the update on your computer, then burn it to a CD/DVD or put it on a USB stick and stick it in your console to update.

Hi XenoAlbedo! Try clearing your system cache to see if that helps.

 

Im having this problem too. Finally after clearing my cache, deleting my profile and not being able to recover it, customer support says theres a problem with the update and it supposeddly will be fixed today

 

So id suggest not doin anything because its not gunna work.

 

How would you get to your cache if your machine would not go beyond the 360 sphere logo?
