Xbox 360 freezing at boot up/corrupt data message

So a couple of days ago my xbox 360 froze on me whilst playing M&M: Clash of Heroes online, I figured it was nothing since this happens every couple of months or so. I rebooted only to be met with an update prompt from xbl to update my console because of
"corrupted data" of some sort. I accepted and everything went well until signing in after the updated had rebooted my console. After this, my console freezes repeatedly at the xbox logo screen, though sometimes at the login/avatar section. I have also encountered
black screens and both a one off pink screen/humming sound and little/pixelated avatar/gamer pics dotted all over the screen, respectively. I have never had any other major problem with this console before this point.

At first I figured the problem was down to my hdd messing up, but that guess was tackled shortly after as I tried the hdd on my other 360 console which was totally fine.

Next I went about removing the wired internet and trying to boot up while offline, but to no avail.

It would seem that if I persist enough I can sometimes make it to the dashboard and search around the settings tab/harddrive etc. but I can't fathom what it is that's causing the problem. I did however find some corrupted avatar items whilst on my other,
working console, and went about deleting said items, though this still doesn't help the glitching console.

Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing the issue? I really wouldn't want to be reverting back to my previous console as the disc tray/laser is dead.

GOW3 RESET RUBISH

If something like freezing happens and you want to boot the game up again. Don't. First go to storage > hard drive > Games > Gears of War 3 and check your gamertag's game data for GoW3. If you hadn't Re-Upped it should be 64KB, if you were a Re-Up it will
be 68KB. Any less than those and it might be corrupt or if the file picture has an exclamation point then it definitely is corrupt. Delete it and then load the game up while connected to Xbox LIVE. The game will download your latest profile data from the Gears
3 servers.

You can try starting up without HDD connected, if it doesn't have any freezing issues anymore, your hdd is causing the problems.

So basically the best thing to do is connect a usb flash drive, copy/move your gamertag and save games just to be sure you won't loose them. and try starting the console without the hdd attached.

You mentioned that you removed your HDD and tried it on a different console. Just to check, did you try booting up your Xbox 360 without your HDD plugged into it? Along with your HDD, do you have any other USB storage devices plugged into your Xbox 360?
If you do, let's remove all those and try powering the console on without anything plugged in but the bare necessities.

Online Service Center and register your console for a repair.
