    Xbox 360 Freezing and Also Occasionally Displaying Errors


    So, a while ago, I had been playing GTA Online, and my console froze up. Turning it back on, I got a full red circle, along with one of the E## errors. (Don't stop reading, this is just how it started.) Most of the time, my Xbox 360 Slim froze between the
    xbox 360 logo intro where the green goes into the sphere and picking which game to play. Just today, I decided to try it again, and got an E79 error. So after that, I did a variety of things, including distancing literally every nearby object far, far away
    from it, making sure it was plugged in firmly, removing and reinserting the hard drive, etc. Then, I got an E71 error, so I removed and reinserted the hard drive again. Now it's freezing again, and I'm honestly just stumped on what to do. I can't exactly clear
    the cache on the hard drive because my console freeze long before I can do that. Any ideas?

    Disconnects bee error

    Same here. Xbox One and 360, both wired. Solid internet connection and bandwidth. Open NAT. Everything else works fine. Occasionally get vulture errors as well.

    Not positive I'd call MS, sounds to me like the HDMI port on your 360 is going bad/dead. Seems like all the swapping had caused an issue.

    Both of those codes suggest a hardware issue with the console. If you have another hard drive (or a friend with a hard drive that you can try) plug it in. If the console works fine with the other drive then the issue is with your hard drive and it needs
    to be replaced.

    If it continues with the same issue then you would need to set up a repair of the console.

    Well I put in a flash drive and took out the hard drive and it seemed to work fine. What's wrong with my hard drive? Am I putting it in wrong or something? I mean it's not like the data is messed up or anything, it just freezes after four or five minutes.

    What size is your hard drive and where did you purchase it from? It is possible that the drive is just dying on you and needs to be replaced. But if you can get your hands on another drive to test it will let you know whether the issue lies with just the
    drive or the console.

    It's a 250 GB hard drive, the one that came with the console.
