    Xbox 360 freezes when connecting to Xbox live


    Trying to play some games, xbox works fine when not connected to live, as soon as I log in it freezes. I've tried disconnecting the hard drive, reformatting it (don't worry all my stuff is backed up), using a USB drive instead with nothing on it. What gives?
    status update says there is an issue with some apps, Netflix being the only one I've downloaded, but this shouldn't affect my on a clean install without Netflix even downloaded right?

    360 Freezes when connecting to XBOX Live

    Hey there Scoot!

    When you have multiple xboxes or more it is important that your router's firmware is up to date or in some cases, running on a certified firmware version to make it work properly. Make sure the firmware for your router is up to date. Visit manufactures website
    and download it from there.

    Reset your network devices.

    Press and hold the reset button (the little button back of your modem/router) for 10 seconds.

    1. Turn off your modem and router.
    2. Wait one minute.
    3. Turn on your modem and wait for it to come back online (one more minute).
    4. Turn on the next piece of hardware (for example, the router), and wait another minute.
    Reset Xbox network settings back to default.

    1. Turn off your Xbox 360 console.
    2. Wireless connection only: Unplug the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter from the USB port (if applicable).
    3. Turn on your console.
    4. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to
      Settings, and then select
      System Settings      .
    5. Select Network Settings.
    6. Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
    7. Select Configure Network.
    8. On the Additional Settings tab, select
      Restore to Factory Defaults      .

    Login to router and make sure UPnP is enabled. Set up
    Port Triggering     on your router and trigger the
    Xbox LIVE ports    . Note: Do not mix these settings with DMZ or Port Forwarding.

    Under storage devices look up your profile and make sure it's not corrupted in any way (shown as a yellow exclamation mark).

    Turn off your console and remove the storage device. Add it back and turn on your console.

    Post back and let us know if any of the suggested worked as a soluton.

    As long as I don't sign into live everything works, can stream video, connect to the internet, etc...

    hi there, sorry to here you are having trouble

    The connection issue you are having is because you need to install the update, as it states when it asks youll be disconnected from live if you decline

    I've tryied everything you said, even the factory reset, but everytime I open the 360 menu It freezes, even after deleting all 360 data and redownloanding Banjo & Kazooie. I assume there is some problem with the 360 emulator o maybe some conflict when my profile connect to Xbox Live?

    It's strange because It freezes everytime I open the 360 menú or even quick resume, But when I start the game the notification that my profile is connected to Xbox live actually appears.

    Arrgh!!!!!! *sign* my xbox same thing also since this morining i had post about it but someone delete it, i find when i connect to network and sign in to xbox live it freeze but not sign in to xbox live but still connect to network no problem or not connect
    to network but still sign in no problem.

    it only freeze up when both sign in to xbox live and connect to network.

    Hi there,

    when you are trying to use the controller on the Xbox 360, do you do that with or without the wireless usb adapter.

    Be sure to try it without when trying, since it shouldn't be needed on the 360 console. Use the pairing buttons on console and controller to establish a connection like show here:
