Xbox 360 freezes when Connecting to Xbox Live

Hi

My XBOX 360 freezes , while connecting to xbox live , it works fine when used offline I have cleared the storage cache but no positive result .

Please advise

Hey there Scoot!

When you have multiple xboxes or more it is important that your router's firmware is up to date or in some cases, running on a certified firmware version to make it work properly. Make sure the firmware for your router is up to date. Visit manufactures website
and download it from there.

Reset your network devices.

Press and hold the reset button (the little button back of your modem/router) for 10 seconds.

1. Turn off your modem and router.
2. Wait one minute.
3. Turn on your modem and wait for it to come back online (one more minute).
4. Turn on the next piece of hardware (for example, the router), and wait another minute.
   

Reset Xbox network settings back to default.

1. Turn off your Xbox 360 console.
2. Wireless connection only: Unplug the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter from the USB port (if applicable).
   
3. Turn on your console.
4. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to
   Settings, and then select
   System Settings.
5. Select Network Settings.
6. Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
   
7. Select Configure Network.
8. On the Additional Settings tab, select
   Restore to Factory Defaults.
   

Login to router and make sure UPnP is enabled. Set up
Port Triggering on your router and trigger the
Xbox LIVE ports. Note: Do not mix these settings with DMZ or Port Forwarding.

Under storage devices look up your profile and make sure it's not corrupted in any way (shown as a yellow exclamation mark).

Turn off your console and remove the storage device. Add it back and turn on your console.

Post back and let us know if any of the suggested worked as a soluton.

 

I'm having the same problem. I think it's the latest update. I recently updated and now when I connect to XBL my system freezes and reboots. I removed the update and my account won't connect to XBL without the update and it doesn't freeze.

 

I am having the same problem. I have 3 boxes ....1 x 360 original, 2 x 360 kinect, all on different networks / ISP / routers ....all the same household and all consoles bought over different periods. Plenty of disk space and no issue for years. Family has
Gold accounts and we play everyday ....seriously.

Just today ...all 3 xbox 360 showed the same symptoms. On start-up ....fine, after the logo spins in ....you get the loading / auto-sign circle that goes round and round, the message pops up telling us how many friends we have online ....and then ...freeze.

The only way to get out of the freeze state is to manually turn off the device ....can't even do it via the controllers. Disconnected hard drives, network ....and it runs fine ....the minute you connect to the internet and login ...in freezes. This looks
like the same proble the Canadians had in Nov 2012 after a recent update. We just had one from Xbox live recently.

Even tried using a clean drive to sign in ....went thru all the process and even recalled my gametag ...but on one of the download updates, the server came back as having some issue and cannot connect to xbox live at this time. There is nothing wrong with
our collective consoles, drives or network. It is at Xbox Live server end. What is up? By the way ....we are out of Singapore.

 

Yeah my friend and I are getting this problem too and it's pretty irritating. To be specific, the console freezes after the xbox guide
minimizes and starts loading the home screen. (The time when they tell you how many friends you have at the bottom of the screen.)

I tried clearing cache and everything and it looks like the hard drive doesn't look like it's the problem. It'd be great if this is fixed or a resolution is made up.

 

I'm having the same problem as well. The freezing only happens if you try to load the Xbox Home screen while you are signed in and connected to Xbox Live. If you sign in without connecting to Xbox Live, then start a game, then connect to Xbox Live, it'll
play the game normally. However, the moment you try to load the Xbox Home Screen while signed in and connected to Xbox Live, it'll freeze. The freezing issue might be regional since I am from Singapore too.

 

I am also having the exact same problem. I wonder what could be causing it.

It is pretty darn frustrating.

 

I am having the same problem too with my Xbox S today. It was still working fine yesterday.

 

Arrgh!!!!!! *sign* my xbox same thing also since this morining i had post about it but someone delete it, i find when i connect to network and sign in to xbox live it freeze but not sign in to xbox live but still connect to network no problem or not connect
to network but still sign in no problem.

it only freeze up when both sign in to xbox live and connect to network.

 

Same issue here. I play GTA 5 online and it's been freezing during online gameplay also recently.

Now it freezes as it signs into Xbox live.

I switched my WiFi off and tried again and it went through to dashboard, but then switch WiFi back on again it tries ti sign in and then freezes.

I've got very little on he hard drive (2-3 games only) and it's only a year old+ machine.

Guys , I also have the same problem TOO. The possible reason is the latest UPDATE that was released.

 

The work around now is to start the console offline, sign in after loading a game up. (From SG as well)

Best bet it would be some Ad is having problem?

i am also from Singapore. I am also experiencing the same freeze issues. I guess all we can do is to wait, or do the workaround, which is to sign in from within a game, in order to play online.

Bad tming to have such issues... Just when I so badly want to buy Titanfall via the xbl marketplace...
