    Hi guys,

    I have a problem with my xbox. It freezes randomly with games on the hard drive, i've already cleaned cache (several times) I've even formatted the HD, and re-downloaded the games and my profile. (i'm using the cloud for the save games)

    It's weird because, with a game or two, it freezes on the exact same part (loading the game and after load the save game) and with other games it freezes completely random. I distracted a overheating issue because sometimes it freezes right after a couple of
    minutes of playing with a cold weather (also the fans eject the air on a room temperature) and sometimes the console works good after hours of gaming with the fans ejecting warm-to-"hot" air.

    Also... i've played several games on discs, without installing them and it has NEVER froze on this games. (Far cry 4, some of the COD, Splinter Cell Black List.

    Oh, also the games that froze on the HD are the most complex of my library, i.e.: GTAV, Hitman Absolution, Battlefield, Halo Reach...

    also my xbox 360 freezes when trying to load a downloaded game/sky player etc..

    Xbox 360 wont play downloaded games

    I recently purchased an older xbox 360 and downloaded some of my old games after I downloaded my profile. I've found out without internet not only can I not play the games I've downloaded but I can't retrieve save game data with games I have the disk for.
    What is the solution to this?

    Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is a question in reference to the Disc and Digital format of the games. Both types of content will need to go through a download process on Xbox 360. For digital purchases, I recommend to review

    360 S Freezing, tried hard drive format , update etc - its half term and raining , need an xbox back for my sanity

    It could be the storage device itself. Can you please remove all storage devices from the console and start it up to see if it continues to freeze? If you only have one and are using a 360 S system with 4GB internal drive then download a small game to
    it and launch it to see if it freezes.

    If it does not but freezes only when the hard drive is plugged in then you'll need to purchase a new drive for it.

    Okay, please have a look at the
    Screen Freeze Solution     page as that may help you in terms of the freezing screen issue. Also, try playing another game and see if a similar problem appears - if not, and the copy of Black Ops 2 was recently purchased, try going to the store of purchase
    and request a swap. (Only if the same problem does not persist on alternate games)

    Problems with Xbox 360 games installed to hard drive

    My system also has been freezing up. I have the original white system xbox 360. I use a 250gb hard drive and a smaller 60g hdd. My system freezes when using either one. If I play the arcade or indie games, they're the only ones that don't freeze up.
    All the games I play are downloaded to my hdd. I've tried clearing the cache as well as re-downloading the games (which I've done about 5 times). This does not seem to fix the issue. I bought it as a refurbished console, and it's been freezing since i
    purchased it.
