Xbox 360 freezes in the guide.

Since a month ago my Xbox 360 has been freezing a lot and only when I open up the Xbox guide. I receive party and game invites a lot so I open up the guide frequently and maybe 75% of the time I freeze I already tried clearing the system cache and deleting
and redownloading my profile and still no luck. My console is one of the E models (360)

Try deleting and re-downloading the system updates.

Go to settings > system > storage

Highlight your hard drive or memory unit (do not press x jut highlight)

Then press RB, LB, X, RB, LB, X on controller you will be asked to delete / redownload sytsem updates

See if the update's being reinstalled helps at all Good Luck!

Does it do it with your HDD removed? When you press the guide button, your Xbox connects to Microsoft's servers (If you're logged into live). If your internet connection isn't the best, the console will pretty much wait for a reply and lock up until it gets
one.

 

I am sorry i said "delete" the correct term is "roll back" either way it does redownload the updates as per the xbox support article found here

Roll back system updates and then reinstall updates

Press the Guide button on your controller.

Go to Settings and select System Settings.

Select Storage.

Enter the following button sequence: LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.

Select the option to roll back all system updates that are installed. The console will restart automatically and then download the updates again.
