    Xbox 360 "Flight Stick" Recommendations?


    I recently purchased Birds of Steel for my Xbox 360, and as I play, I find myself wishing I could fly these beasts with an actual joystick (and preferably separate throttle) instead of the regular system controller. It would just feel more natural....naturally.
    Many posts I've read online suggest that the HORI EX2 is very good in terms of it's quality and functionality; however, it appears as though the Xbox 360 version of this flight stick is out of stock everywhere online (at least in the US). Is this particular
    joystick still available anywhere? Nothing I've read thus far even mentions their lack of availability. There do not seem to be many options in terms of compatible joysticks for the 360, but does anyone have any recommendations of a good joystick that may
    be analogous to the HORI EX2, if these are indeed unable to be obtained?

    Bandai Namco worked with Hori to create a special Ace Combat 6 bundle that came with a special Xbox 360 flight stick (the Hori Ace Edge). I think for Ace Combat 5 they also did a controller with Hori.

    But the Flight stick can only be used in this very game, not in any other flight games. So unless you intend on only playing Ace Combat 5/6, buying a flight stick for the Xbox 360 is a waste of money, as the stick won't work comfortably in any other game.

    There was a similar post to this a little while ago where an op asked the same question.

    I have Birds of Steel & IL2-Sturmovik, both excellent games but so much more enjoyable and responsive with a flight stick. Whatever make you are after they all seem a little hard to come by.

    I personally use a Saitek Aviator (AV8R-02), managed to get one on ebay. There are two Xbox360 versions on ebay (the US site) right now as I type this.

    A flight stick for what game?

    The only worthwhile flight sims are made by Gaijin and they only have three titles for the Xbox 360.

    I'm afraid there isn't an official Flight Stick for the Xbox 360. You might want to check online retailers for 3rd party options, but unfortunately we don't have any to recommend here. If you have any other Xbox support questions, feel free to drop another

    Sorry the only Flight stick I know of that works with the 360 console is the bundle one that came with ace combat a few yrs back.

    You can not use that flight stick b/c there are no 'drivers' or interface to the console.
