    Please unplug it and leave it unplugged, This could be anything from a failing fan to failing capacitors, the latter of which can cause a fire.

    Unfortunately Microsoft no longer repairs Xbox 360

    I am having the same problem. My Xbox 360 (original) just downloaded the update. When it restarted the sound was terrible. There is now a load buzzing, screeching noise. I hope there is an explanation for this problem.

    Xbox Not Turning On

    Update 2: So Xbox is still not turning on. My power cable box thing has a very faint screech coming from the inside. The Xbox cooling fan turns on and the disk tray opens and closes fine. I've tried resetting the video setting by holding the power button.
    It worked the first time but afterwards it didn't. I really don't know what to do.
