I can't update my Xbox I haven't played in a while and it won't let me connect to Xbox live because I can't update what do I do?

Quick question, well two really. What was the error code? Did you ask google what the error code meant?

Also, if the xbox is having status issues that can cause stupid error codes to drop. Usually though once you google the code you'll know what the issue is, and if the issue isn't related to the internet, i'd still hit up status page for xbox just to make sure.

Which i'll do before i hit post. Xbox Live Service Status | Xbox Live Service Outage seems everything is normal right now, so hit us up with the error code, i'd try again though.

This error code is normally to due to an issue with your storage device during the update. I recommend starting out by following the steps below:

• Turn off your console.
• Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, any external hard drives, or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 console. Learn
  how to remove the hard drive.
• Add your primary storage device; for example, the hard drive.
• Turn on the console.
• Try downloading the update again.
