Xbox 360 error code: 417f000030800300d0000185

Tried to do a search for this, nothing came up. Here is what it is doing.

Profile has been deleted. Will not download or let me create new profiles. Will not save the family settings after I change them to allow me to create a new profile. Everything on my xbox shows that it has been deleted, but there is only 400mb of free space
(2gb system). Cannot connect to Xbox Live and keeps telling me to download an update when I cannot connect. I have tried to delete everything/cache etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Quick question, well two really. What was the error code? Did you ask google what the error code meant?

Also, if the xbox is having status issues that can cause stupid error codes to drop. Usually though once you google the code you'll know what the issue is, and if the issue isn't related to the internet, i'd still hit up status page for xbox just to make sure.

Which i'll do before i hit post. Xbox Live Service Status | Xbox Live Service Outage seems everything is normal right now, so hit us up with the error code, i'd try again though.

Since you cannot connect to Xbox Live and you mention that you need to download an update. Are you able to do so by copying the update to a USB Flash Drive or burning the update to a CD or DVD as explained here and then installing? support.xbox.com/.../system-updates-info

That error code means there is an issue with your storage device.

Please remove any storage devices that you have attached to your console. If you do not have any attached then you may need to send the console in for repairs.

GlobalWebSurfer - did what you said, it wouldn't update from cd-r. Just kept asking if I wanted to update from xbox live which I can't log into because I can't create/download a profile.

Onyx62is - Know if there is a warranty on the repair? Don't want to shell out $80 for a repair to have it break down again a few months later. Seems I have bad luck with my xboxes, 2nd one to crap out on me in 4 years. Just wondering if I should buy a new
one instead for $180

 

If your console is less than a year old then there should still be a warrant active on it. If it is older then you would have to pay for a repair.
