    Xbox 360 emulator not connecting on Xbox One backwards compatible games


    Hello, I am having a pretty serious problem with backwards compatible games. My xbox one is connected to the internet and plays xbox one games just fine. However the problem arises whenever I try to load up a backwards compatible game. This started happening after my power flickered a few times during a storm. It doesn’t make sense that the internet is working fine and all devices in my apartment are connected but the live on the 360 emulator. I have tried all I can think of. Clearing xbox 360 local data/saved games, I deleted my profile and had to connect to a hotspot to download it back because it wouldn’t let me download it on my current wifi. I got the “getting xbox 360 info” loading screen a couple of times. I’ve power cycled, soft reset, reset my router and modem, power cycled them, used an ethernet cable, etc. I’m pretty sure the problem is with my wifi because I was able to watch a show and download my profile back on a hotspot. I’ve been on several forums with fixes that worked for other people but I haven’t had the same luck. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be so grateful.

    Xbox 360 (backwards compatible) games require an internet connection to be loaded to the xbox one due to the emulator.

    Hopefully below should help you a bit

    1. Xbox 360 game discs can be used in Xbox One however the console needs to be online as it must download the backwards compatible version of the game. Please note the game disc is still required after downloading the game unless the game was purchased through
    the marketplace.

    2. With backwards compatibility Xbox One will run and Xbox 360 game along with an additional piece of software that (Emulates) the Xbox 360 on the Xbox One

    3. Providing the Xbox 360 games you are wishing to play can also be played on Xbox One via backwards compatibility then there is no need for both consoles

    what I mean by emulators is what they did with the xbox 360 to make it backwards compatible with the original xbox games they had to make emulators in order to play originals on the 360

    360 backwards compatible force are considered Xbox one games because they are. Backwards compatibility is a bit of a misnomer, the only thing actually being emulated is the operating system, everything else has been machine translated into an Xbox one game

    So you can play them on 360 but not one and above

    The Xbox One has a 360 emulator already they use with backward compatibility. Scorpio and Xbox X with also have it.
