Xbox 360 Elite hard drive availability

Hello. I currently have an Xbox 360 Elite with a 120GB hard drive. I recently had the console repaired due to RROD failure. So, I'm not looking to replace the console with a new one. I would, however, like to upgrade the hard drive to something a bit
more spacious, like a 250gb (which I believe is the largest size made for the elites.) However, I'm noticing that Microsoft doesn't seem to sell the older hdd's any more. I do NOT want to go 3rd party, as I don't support companies that make knock-off parts.
There are refurbs being sold on Gamestop but I'm guessing those might be a ToU violation, as they are not Microsoft-repaired. That leaves ebay listings for official drives, and hoping they are legit.

Does Microsoft sell or have a recommended source for official Microsoft hdd's for these consoles?

Xbox One S = NOT FAIR FOR DAY ONE BUYERS

Original Xbox was supported during (only) 4 years.

Xbox 360 Elite brought HDMI outpout.

Xbox 360 S brought internal hard drive.(and external hard drive support).

....

Hey there, Amphlecyte! Since Gamestop is an authorized dealer, a refurbished hard drive shouldn't be against the Terms of Use; as long as it is a refurbished Microsoft hard drive and not a 3rd party hard drive. There are some shiny stickers on the hard drive
that help let you know if it's official or not. I suggest starting there for it.

It also seems that
Amazon is selling a couple of used official ones that you could look into, too. The ones from Gamestop may be a better bet, but I wanted to see if we could get you some better options instead of Ebay.

From the sound of it, it is either an xbox 360 Elite or Super Elite. To find out, check how big the hard drive is 120GB (Elite)or 250GB (Super Elite). Either way it is an Elite, but with a bigger hard drive. Also you can tell by the usb sockets on the back,
if it's just one, you have an Elite/Super Elite.

Hello,

You cannot use the hard drive in the transfer cable mode to play original Xbox games. The hard drive needs to be an original Xbox 360 hard drive and it also needs to either go inside the console if you have a Xbox 360 S, or on top of the console if you have
an Original Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 Elite.
