Xbox 360 Elite external storage

I have a Xbox 360 Elite (Modern Warfare 2 edition) with a 250GB hard drive that is starting to fill up from the Games with Gold as well as other things and I want to start looking into some external storage options. I'm getting confused because most of what
I'm finding online assumes one of the Slim versions and I'm just not sure what works with the Elite. I'm not sure whether some sort of external hard drive or a flash drive would be best. Since I already have a hard drive inside my 360, I do not need this drive
for backwards compatibility or to run the games from the external device. I just need to be able to archive games that I'm not currently playing and be able to copy them back and forth (without hassle) to my 360 as needed.

What are my best options for this purpose? Note that I'd prefer new in this case rather than refurbished or used.

The Xbox 360 console only supports up to 32GB of external storage. You can refer to our

I believe that the only thing other then the 250gb hard drive that is officially supported is the use of USB flash drives. You can use up to 32gb flash drives. You can use 2 at a time for a total of 64gb of extra storage. These are the only supported
methods for external storage.

 

As far as Xbox hard drives are concerned, it will be hard to find a brand new hard drive for those older models. I believe the 250gb is the largest that was made for that console too. Any unauthorized hard drives would violate the terms of service and can
put you at risk for being banned, so you would need to be careful if you choose to get another hard drive.

You can use flash drives or external hard drives, but you are limited to using 32gb of space on either. You can use 2 of those devices for an extra 64gb of space.

 

Thank you both! It seems like the easiest solution for me would be to get the flash drives whenever I start running out of storage space, and I suppose they would also be easy to swap in and out as needed.
