Xbox 360 E instant overheat

one of 2 things, either instant overheat or the lead-free solder joints are cracking, which was a common issue, you would need to take to a local repair shop to see if they can repair it, may not last though.

Sorry to hear it. I have a couple of questions for you.

Was the console given recently?

Was it new or used?

If the console was gifted within the last year and is new then you should still have a warranty on it so you can send it in to have it repaired. If it was used then I'm afraid there's not much choice for you. You'd need to either pay to send it in for
repairs or purchase a new console.

I don't find the rate of fire to be any faster in ME2 than it was with an upgraded weapon in ME1. If these clips are to function as they are intended, then one should still be able to fire the weapon (at a slower rate) without thermal clips,
or the overheat meter should have been brought back so you could fire normally until it reached the overheat point,
then eject a clip for an instant cooldown. As it stands, they're just like ammo.

I have the same question as MarkDeeDavis. I have an Xbox 360 E that is 8 months old (it's a replacement). Is it safe to leave it on for about 20 hours without using it? Sometimes I have unsaved progress on a school night, than have to leave it on from 9
PM-3 PM. The console is placed horizontally on shelf with plenty of fan room, but am unsure if it overheat if I keep it in a space like that.

I don't get any semi-circle. As I said, 2-3 minutes after turning it on, it turns off with the overheat warning and a flashing red dot appears right in the middle of the power button. The console isn't even hot, so I believe there may be a hardware error,
as you said. One more question, do you think it's better send for repair (paying for it because i bought the console 2 years ago and I don't have warranty anymore) or buy the new 'super slim' model? Which one is worth more?
