Xbox 360 E , DVD works fine but games don't.

Hello,

My Xbox 360 E reads DVD discs(Movies , etc.) but doesn't read Game Disc.

I gave the games disc(s) to my friend and it worked fine on his Xbox 360 S.

I have played games on this before(3 months, Also finished 2 games.)

Is this a CD Reader problem?or Anything with like viruses?(I put a disc and it was "Reading" for a long time and then it didn't play.)

It shows "Unrecognized Disc" or "Mixed Media Disc" Error.

Any help on this?

Blu Ray Player will not read movies

Having the same issue no DVD movie or Blu-ray movie will work in Xbox one, I get black screen with message please insert disc. The same discs work fine in my regular DVD player and the DVD works without an issue on my Xbox 360 but not on the xbox one

xbox wont read games

xbox wont read games keeps diverting to play dvd? when i put a dvd in it plays fine but no games work?

Yeah,

He has tried this in My Xbox 360 S.It worked fine.I also gave him one of my Game CDs which didn't work.

Seems like DVD and the xbox 360 backwards compatible games only, blueray works fine.

Just to update, I tried with a basic movie DVD (Big Fish) and it worked fine no issues.

Since Xbox 360 games are on a DVD, I thought they'd read the same. Any difference (excluding the extra lair DVD's newer games come on)?

I tested a DVD in my Xbox 360 and I was able to reproduce the audio-drop problem. I never had DVD playback problems before I relocated my Xbox 360 to this new HTMI cable :-(

This was odd since I used this HTMI cable to connect my PS3 to the television and I didn't remember any issues.

So I unplugged my XBox 360 and plugged in my PS3 and tried playing the same DVD.

In the PS3 the DVD played fine and there was no audio drop. Also tested playing a blu-ray disc .... no problem

Tested a PS3 game .... no problem.

So is there a compatability issue with XBox 360 and some HTMI cables. Is there a specific specification of cable that is require to play 'Movies & TV' without audio skip ? Or is there specific setting on the XBox 360 and the TV that I need to set in order
to make things work ? My TV is a Sony Bravia.

Summary (using same htmi cable):

XBox 360 - playing games - FINE (no problems)

XBox 360 - playing DVD - BAD audio-drop problem

XBox 360 - playing 'Movies & TV' - BAD audio-drop problem

PS3 - playing 'Movies & TV' - FINE (no problems)

PS3 - playing DVD - FINE (no problems)

PS3 - playing games - FINE (no problems)
