    Xbox 360 driver not working


    Hello, I'm having issues with my xbox 360 controller. My wireless receiver for the controller is not being recognized by the system. I went to the Device Manager, and updated the driver using the Xbox 360 peripheral wireless receiver driver, but it's still
    not being installed. It used to work before, when I had window 7 but after upgrading it to windows 10, it stopped working.

    After updating the driver in the Device Manager, the icon of the "Unknown Device" changes to a device with a tiny blue question mark. When checking the properties, the information under General says "No drivers are installed for this device", even though
    i updated it.

    I need help please. Thank you.

    I'm in a chat with microsoft support now and they are telling me the same thing as we all tried already, install the driver, uninstall device and reboot, unplug, etc. I'm worried that they are dropping support for 360 peripherals. That would be a ****
    move.

    I came here looking for a solution to this same problem, I happened to look up my version of windows and its the same version Win10 Pro 2004. It used to work for years, until the update on the end of May.

    I have found what the problem is. I has to do with the windows feature update from 1909 to 2004. I have another computer that was running 1909 and the adapter worked but once I updated that computer to version 2004 it broke and stopped working. I then downgraded
    back to 1909 and it started working again.

    The issue appears to be something that is broken in the driver installer for version 2004.

    I was able to repeat this behavior between 2 other different computers with the same results, 1903 or 1909 working and 2004 not working.

    A temporary fix is to roll back to windows version 1909 or earlier. Unfortunately, a more permanent solution will only happen when Microsoft gets around to it. : (
