Xbox 360 downloaded games query...

Hi,

Ive just bought an xbox one today and i am looking to sell my 360 to try and recoup some money. I had bought quite a few games via download on the 360 and i was just wondering if these games would still be playable for someone who buys the 360 off me?
Im intending on porting my gamertag for xbox one use and removing the details from the 360 before selling, so im not sure if this would affect the ability to play the games that are already installed. Obviously a 360 that is pre-loaded with several games
will be more attractive to a potential buyer, however i just want to make sure there wont be an issue before i advertise it as pre-loaded with games.

Shit here apparently is cheap, i personally sold my 360 to a guy at work with a wired controller, halo 4, and gears for 100.

Hello lemon difficult, the games that are downloaded on the console will not be playable, however if you intend in having those same games on a new console you will need to transfer licenses you can find out more @ Redownload Xbox Content | Xbox 360

Just be sure to remove all game save files, accounts on the xbox, and any other data besides the games BEFORE selling the console. If you leave your account on the console you will be in direct violation of the Microsoft’s Code of Conduct Explained for Xbox Live Customers

NO.... This information is simply incorrect. It's true if you intend to keep the content a license transfer is wise but, You can sell the console as is without consiquence. Now selling your account is a differnt matter altogether.

Yeah Bong...I can't find anything that says if you leave games or anything on a console you will get banned. Don't know where you read that in the code. But more to point: can he actually transfer licenses to the One? Cause everywhere in these forums we
are repeatedly told that NOTHING from the 360 will work on the One. And there posts already about DLC not working...XBLA games included. I would imagine Games on Demand are included as well.

 

No games, digital or physical, designed for Xbox 360 are playable on the Xbox One. A separate Xbox One edition of the game would be required, and it would need to be purchased separately. The games left on the Xbox would be playable, for now. Sooner or
later, as the purchaser of the games, you might transfer those licenses to your own Xbox 360 remotely (unless 360 games become playable on Xbox One in the future, in which case a license transfer to that will behave the same way), disabling the game licenses
on the previous console the next time it connects to Live and is informed of the change by the servers.

I would not increase the asking price, or base it in any way on the digital games that are licensed to your account. Those licenses cannot be granted to other people, and you may not resell them as that would require selling the account, which is in violation
of the Terms of Use. If the buyer wishes to consider this temporary ability to play the games as an added bonus, that's fine. But I would not pay money to borrow digital games from someone else, even with their solemn promise not to revoke the licenses from
me anytime soon.

 

Technically all the digital games that you have purchased are tied to your gamertag and Xbox 360 console. You could try removing your gamertag associated with the games and try to play the all the games without signing in to live. If they still work they
still have a connection to the Xbox 360 console. Just know as these were purchased with your gamertag they are still in the purchase history and any future licence transfers may make the games on the 360 your selling not work for the user who purchased the
console off of you. Personally I would see it as too much hassle and wipe everything including games off the hard drive and sell the console fully wiped.

Xbox 360 games won't work on the one that is true but a license transfer is still a license transfer and will more than likely cause licensing issues for the games on the sold 360 console.
