I will reach out to the engineer to let him know that! When you run the detailed network statistics on your Xbox Ones, do they show the low download speeds as well? I'm wondering, since everything works fine with Xbox Live as a whole, if the speeds might
    be bad there, too.

I'm off for the weekend, but I will keep an eye out for your updates on Monday. Xbox 360 download speeds slow :)

I ran Network Statistics on both my Xbox Ones. Both have excellent download speeds and they can stream videos without any problems. Keep in mind, they are both located closer to the router downstairs. See below.

  3. Thank you for that! Interesting that it is like that. :\

Alright, with E3 week this week, we're swamped. I'm going to circle back with the engineer next week and keep you updated. I honestly don't know how long this investigation will take, but I will update you as often as I can. With the Comcast stuff, we would
simply have customers use the workaround and then have them reach out to Comcast. If they could get a good Tier 2 with them, it would end up working in their favor for getting a new device as they were aware that the issue occurred.

This is just a warning of where this might go. I'll keep pushing, though. Xbox 360 download speeds slow :)

    Hey again!

Following up, I realized that I haven't asked you if you could try your 360 on a different network. You can either move it to a house that doesn't have FiOS, or try connecting to a hotspot from your phone. The engineer I am working with was curious about
    that.

He's also curious to know if you have an E or S 360 console. He's wondering if it's because those have a 2.4GHz network connection only that's causing issues with the wireless.

Let me know if you can test another network, and what kind of console you have! Xbox 360 download speeds slow :)

I tried it with a different router. Details of the router: http://us.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/routers/dir-835-wireless-n750-dual-band-router.html
Note, that this new router is connected to one of the FiOS router's ethernet ports. There is no way for me to create another network without the FiOS router, since there is a coax-cable that goes into the FiOS router from the wall. Even with this Dlink router,
    the video streaming is broken.

    I have Xbox 360 S.

A hotspot from my phone will not work because I'm trying to stream videos located on my local NAS. The Xbox won't have access through my phone to the NAS.

So is anyone else having this streaming problem? Surely, I can't be the only one. Something broke with an update in April 2016. I really need a solution to this soon.

The solution for now is using that Netgear Wireless Adapter. Based on you having an S console, it sounds like there might be an issue with the wireless frequencies, and the adapter is alleviating that symptom. Since you have been unable to test a fully wired
connection, we can only assume at this time that this is isolated to wireless. There is nothing else we can really do to improve it right now, as we need to work with the manufacturers of the device to get them consoles or have them send their device to us
to test further. As far as I am aware, we are in the process of that, but I have nothing else outside of that.

I am not concerned about the streaming at this time, as that wouldn't be affected by your download speeds; local streaming is not controlled by your download speeds from Xbox Live. Your download speeds are what we are trying to focus on, and we hope that
we can resolve the other local streaming issue while also resolving this one. You are, so far, the only user that has come to us through Community Support about this; we do not have access to users that go through phone or chat, so I cannot comment on that
side of things. You have to understand how niche your issue is: You are using an Xbox 360, with a networking device that we don't have any information on, and it seems to be a newer device. While others may be affected, they might not notice it in a way you
do with streaming from a local NAS. We are confident this issue lies with the FiOS device you have, but cannot fix it until we work with the right people more.

When I ask to test the console on another network, I mean testing your console speeds on a network that is not your own. This means taking the console to another house that does not have FiOS internet, or by using a mobile hotspot. Using a hotspot would
be beneficial, since you are solely using the cellular network when broadcasting a hotspot. That will help get the most information to the engineer that I am working with. Let me know if you're able to try that!

I'll let him know about your console type, and follow up with you once I have more information. Again, I do not have an ETA right now on how long this will take, but I do promise to provide updates as I receive them.

Thanks for the update, but I disagree on where the problem lies. The problem is with the Xbox 360, not with my FiOS router. Using the Netgear Wireless Adapter proves my point. The Netgear vindicates the router.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, my phone's hotspot won't work since I'm trying to stream videos located on my local NAS. The Xbox won't have access to the videos on the NAS through the phone's hotspot.

  10. As I have stated, I am not looking for the streaming ability, but your Xbox 360 download speed. Connecting to a phone hotspot will help determine if your speeds increase.

Using the Netgear adapter shows that the console will connect up via a 5GHz connection, something that the 360 S does not connect to; the 360 S uses a 2.4GHz wireless connection when using wifi. This does not prove the issue doesn't lie with the gateway,
it simply gives more information to the engineer on what to look for. We cannot fully determine on where the issue is until we have the device on hand to test with. Additionally, the fact that the gateway took an update when this started happening indicates
an issue with the configuration with the gateway and the NIC we use in our consoles. This is not the first time we have seen this happen, and we are working to do the same steps we have done in the past to resolve these issues. Using the hotspot will also
show more information on the download speeds on wireless; if they improve as well, this will show the issue indeed lies with the configuration of the gateway and how it communicates with our hardware. It will show speeds on a 2.4GHz connection that isn't a
5GHz adapter or your network's current wireless connection.

I understand where you can see the issue lies solely with the Xbox 360. Unfortunately, until we get the devices we need, we cannot state that it is with the console. The console works well on any other router/gateway device with
other companies; if the issue lied with the console, we would have a much larger influx of complaints about this. I hope that helps explain why we are confident it lies with the device you have.

Ok, I'll try my phone's hotspot and will let you know the results.

The Netgear Wireless adapter is NOT a 5GHz product. You can see this in its datasheet here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WNCE2001/WNCE2001_DS_12Oct11.pdf

Not only is it NOT a 5GHz product, if it was I would have had to configure it to connect to my 5GHz WiFi network, something I did not do.

BF4 taking over 7 hours to get to 12% installation

It does matter how fast your internet connection is.

    .

Title updates for the xbox one are massive compared to what they are for the xbox 360.

    .

Part of the installation time is the time it takes to download the updates. If you have a slow connection or if you are on a congested wifi channel your installation will take ages.

    .

It is now quite common for game updates to be hundreds of megabytes in size. On a slow connection this will cause downloads to take hours. Average update for 360 is less than 6MB. On xbox one they often over 600MB. I think BF4 was over 900MB when I last
    updated it.

    .

That's why I asked for your download speed. If your download speed is slow then that will be the reason. If your download speed is fast then there will be some other problem.

    Hi,

I did some research and recall that around April 2016 the streaming broke after a firmware update. Can you check if there is a something related to streaming in the firmware upgrade around that time? So it's more around April 2016, rather than October 2016.
