XBOX 360 doesn't recognise ny hand drive

ok I have a problem entirely of my own making. I used a non standard transfer cable to copy my 60GB hard drive to a 250 GB drive

i copied about 32 Gb before it told me the drive was full leaving about 30 GB on the original drive.

i figured that because i used the wrong cable it only formatted the new drive to 32 GB?

Ok realising I was on dangerous ground I backed up my save games and profiles to a 32GB from both the existing 60gb drive and the new 250gb drive.

I got hold of an EZ translation cable from a friend who had used it to transfer stuff successfully.

I attempted a transfer with this but if didn't see the 250gb drive.

then I made what I think was the biggest mistake. I used the original non Microsoft cable AGAIN to transfer the contents of the new drive back up

to the existing one.(I think)

But then I found the original drive was no longer being recognised by my Xbox 360 so I have no disk drives to use in my Xbox 360 of whatever size.

i think I need to buy a new hard drive but was wondering if anyone knows of any way I can reformat either of my two existing drives so that the Xbox will see them?

My xbox one doesn't recognise my external hard drive when it worked perfectly fine on my 360.... doing my head in! Does any one know how to resolve this??

It doesn't recognise the External HDDs full capacity though, does it, c0deater..?? The Xbox 360, will only recognise "One" 16GB partition on any external HDD..

It is only 16GB, as the UEFI System Kernel, is not designed, for a USB Drive to handle any more than 16GB without the dashboard crashing..

 

Sorry, but there is no legit way of turning those hard drives back into Xbox hard drives.

 

Would Microsoft Support be prepared to reformat them do you think?

 

Since you used a third party cable, I don't believe they will fix the issue, but you can try contacting support to see if it's possible to send them in for repair. If they are out of warranty you may have to pay.
