  1. Xbox 360 DLCs that are stored on a disc not working for Xbox One Backward Compatibility

I have talked with an exceptional Xbox Support agent over chat about this problem already, and they advised me to post this on the forums as well. So that is what I am doing Xbox 360 DLCs that are stored on a disc not working for Xbox One Backward Compatibility :)

Basically my problem is with Fallout 3's five DLC packs. I bought the Game of the Year edition of Fallout 3 a year or so ago which came with the main game on one disk, and the five DLC packs - Operation: Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout,
and Mothership Zeta - on a second disk for installation directly to your Xbox 360's hard drive. The reason it does not recognize I own the DLC on my Xbox One is because I did not buy them from the Xbox 360 Marketplace, but installed it off the second disk.
So as my support rep said, the licenses for the DLC are not found on my account because there was no transaction made. And the licenses for my DLC are also on the second disk so it does now show up (the second disk is not recognized on the Xbox One because
it does not contain a game, only the DLCs, therefore telling me it is a disk that is not currently compatible with Xbox One backwards compatibility). The wonderful support rep told me that the disks which contain the DLC are not yet compatible, so pretty much
I cannot do anything about it yet. So my Fallout 3 is unplayable currently without the DLCs because my save file in the Cloud contains the DLC packs, so I do not wish to corrupt it by loading it until I have the five DLC packs on my Xbox One.

The Xbox Support Rep said he was documenting my case and sending it to the higher ups/engineers for them to look at and investigate to see if they could possibly fix this issue by adding a feature that would read the Xbox 360 disks which only contain the
DLC. Which then would allow myself (and others) the ability to download/install the Xbox 360 DLC they own on their Xbox One for the backwards compatibility feature of Xbox One.

Personally this would really help me out (and I assume others) not just now, but in the future. As more Xbox 360 games become available for backwards compatibility, the more this issue could arise with people. Because there are many games for the Xbox 360
that were re-released in Game of the Year editions, or special editions, or complete editions which contained all the extra content and DLC on a separate disk (or same disk as the main game sometimes). So all that DLC would not show up on the Xbox One as is
right now because there were no digital transactions to show that someone owns DLC to a certain game. I hope this can be fixed soon. Otherwise, have a great day any and all! Xbox 360 DLCs that are stored on a disc not working for Xbox One Backward Compatibility :)

    :)

  2. backwards compatibility of xbox 360 games on xbox one on disc

I got loads of xbox 360 games on cd rom disc and they are not working for backwards compatibility even though these games are on the official list of backwards compatible games. What is wrong? I read online that xbox 360 games on disc are also supposed
to be backwards compatible with xbox one.

    Hi there,

you can Not move any 360 games from a xbox 360 to a Xbox One S.

The only option that works if that the 360 games are backwards compatible and you own the 360 games digitally or on disc, that will allow you to Download the 360 games on your Xbox One console.

See this link for the FAQ regarding Backwards compatibility:

  4. Xbox 360 DLCs that are stored on a disc not working for Xbox One Backward Compatibility

I had a similar issue with Fallout 3, that I installed the discs with the dlc on them, but the game did not recognize them. The only dlc it did recognize was Mothership Zeta, which I downloaded from Xbox Live.

Unfortunately compilation discs are not included in the backwards compatibility feature at the moment.

same here got dragon age: origins ultimate edition but none of the dlc from disc works on another note a friends dlc they bought and share with u wont work if u install in on console even if theyre signed in unless u play the game with their profile so
its seems the disc dlc's are looking for an account rather than system and the dlc's on disc can never work cuz they arent attatched to an account hopefully microsoft fixes this soon

This issue has been fixed for over a year. Xbox 1 reads DLC discs now, installs the content and it's playable.

If you own the base game via marketplace as well as disc and are trying to use disc DLC, you MUST run the game with the DLC disc still in the console to have them load in your game. Even after their installed, I know, it's silly.

This issue only arose when players owned base games and just one or two dlc through the market and now on xbox1 wish to complete the dlc collections now that game of the year etc exists with all dlcs on one disc for many diffrent games.

There was never an issue with Xbox 1 reading dlc disc content. Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas we're of the first on the list to be added to backwards compatibility , and I've been playing both games on my xbox1 since the day it was available.

I only searched for this issue and am posting now today because my roommates xbox1s was acting as described above, and now that we've put the DLC disc in and left it, Fallout 3 is playing fine, took like 3 full minutes of playing
for them to load, but they did and are all installed. I figured I'd reply and share the info since it seemed all people with issues owned the base game via marketplace and are hitting this issue with using a DLC disc, just leave the disc in. This is funny, and was never an issue. DLC discs have always read, and installed the content. Since Fallout 3 was added to backwards compatible at least.

If you own the base game via marketplace as well as disc and are trying to use disc DLC, you MUST run the game with the DLC disc (Disc 2) still in the console to have them load in your game. Even after their installed, I know, it's silly.

Actually, I'm having trouble install fallout new vegas ultimate edition on my one now. I play it with disk 2 in and it says I have all the Dlcs installed, but the game doesn't recognize the Dlcs and it just tells me I can pay for each one in store. I am
doing everything right but they won't actually load into my game

I think you go to manage your games and then see your dlc you have to reinstall again by selecting the add ons on your Xbox One

    Downloadable Content

If the DLC is for the Xbox One version of the game, then no, you can't use that DLC on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

For example, Assassins Creed IV Black Flag is a Backwards Compatible Xbox 360 game that works on the Xbox One. However, if you buy Xbox One DLC, then this will NOT work on the Xbox 360 version of the game.

But if you get the Xbox 360 DLC content for a Backwards Compatible game, the DLC will work on the emulated Xbox 360 on Xbox One.

XBOX 360 how can i play regular XBOX games

    Hi Emerson,

Original Xbox games were backwards compatible on Xbox 360's for quite awhile when the Xbox 360 was in it's prime by simply putting in the disc but I don't think backwards compatibility on the Xbox 360 works as well as it used to since backwards compatibility
has moved on to the Xbox One. The Xbox One can play Xbox original games by simply putting in the disc or you can buy digital licenses.

You can try inserting a disc into your Xbox 360 and see if it works but it may not be supported anymore.

Found a fix for players unable to use left 4 dead discs on xbox one

As i seen information where people are told it may be disc drive but mine plays all xbox one and 360 backward compatible discs no problem but left 4 dead i think microsoft needs to move the buy on xbox 360 or on xbox .com from the store listing as xbox
live doesnt recognise its there and if the did the game would install easier as its the only game on the backward compatible store that says buy on 360 or from store.

Underaged for downloading free xbox 360 games?!?

The 360 store and the One store are set up differently. Due to restrictions on child accounts for the 360 store that can't be adjusted on the One, you can't download backwards compatible games. You can get them through a 360 console.
Can i then buy the 360 disc for the game and then put it in my xbox one and it will work?
