Xbox 360 Disk Tray Creating Odd Sounds, How can I fix it?

Hey guys! So, this is my first post and I thought it would be best to start around here to search for help. My next stop is to call the xBox 360 team. (Or whatever you wish to call them.)

The problem- 2 nights ago, my boyfriend was playing Skyrim The Elder Scrolls (all was normal.) And he took the cd out so we could play Halo 4. This is where **** hit the fan. As he put the disk in, we heard a
"morus code sound" coming from the Disk Drive. Nothing loaded, just a bunch of odd sounds. Like dot dot. Dash dash dash.

Later on last night, I was examining it myself. With help of an xBox friend. Attempting games, movies, already saved games...etc. the same sound was made - except for the saved games, those worked.

However - if I left a game or movie in long enough it
Would load. But, no picture would show. Only a black screen. And the morus code sound would continue.

I can't record the sound, because I have a crappy mic, and I simply don't know how (I read on other posts that it was possible.)

So, I'm wondering/asking if any of you could help us fix our 1 1/2 year old xBox 360? It
is over it's warranty, sadly. :/

Or, are we better off buying a new one?

We'd prefer Not to get an xBox One.

open tray issue

when i put disk in my 360 it says open tray how can i fix this issue

my 360 disk tray wont open.. it makes a sound as if its trying to open when i press the button.. but never will acualy open. any idea on how to fix?

 

That's usually the signs of the DVD drive failing.

Even though it is out of warranty time, you can still attempt to get it fixed by
scheduling a repair (it will likely cost you quite a fee).
