Xbox 360 Discs wont play on Xbox One

I'm trying to play Fallout 3 on my Xbox One, but when I insert the disc nothing happens or I eventually get an error message that the disc in not compatible with Xbox One. The game runs fine on my Xbox 360. The same thing happens with Mass Effect.

same with me my xbo games work but no 360 games or dvds.

You'd need to keep your Xbox 360 in order to play any sort of Xbox 360 content (game discs, games on demand, xbox live arcade titles, etc). Your profile can co-exist on both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One so if you wish to earn some achievements or simply go
play that game you can do so on the Xbox 360 console.

The Xbox One will only play Xbox One game discs, games on demand discs, as well as Xbox LIVE Arcade titles that have been released on the Xbox One.

 

Non mastered bluray support

I have some blu-ray discs that aren't mastered discs, but have been purchased by myself from PlanesTV. Basically just footage that they have shot themselves of airshows around the world.

My Xbox One cant play these discs, I have contacted the xbox support twitter feed about this and been informed that they wont play due to quality, not sure I follow this reason. I have tested a friends blu-ray disc of a blockbuster movie and my Xbox One
does play it so I know its not the unit.

The disc that I have that wont in my Xbox One does play perfectly fine on a Playstation 3.

Could this possibly looked into so I can play these discs on my Xbox One.

We went ahead and split this from the original post so we can better assist more people! We suggest if it hasn't already been done to clear the game cache (local saved games). When the cache gets full it causes this type of errors:

How to clear Game Cache on the Xbox One:

Settings

System

Storage

Clear Local Saved Games

Yes and Restart

IF THE CONSOLE IS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET no progress or purchase data will be lost, what we accomplish by doing these steps would be to resync the profile to the cloud getting rid of any corruption as a byproduct.

I'm sorry you're having issues with your console recognising Xbox 360 games. The end your post says your console can't read DVD discs either, is that correct?

If your console can't read Movie DVD's either then I'm afraid that means your Xbox One has a hardware issue with the Blu-ray drive. The Xbox One Blu-ray drive has a laser that can read both types of disc, however, it sounds to me like the part of the drive
that reads DVD discs is faulty (Xbox 360 games are on DVD disc format).

To get this corrected you'll have to send your console to Microsoft for a repair.
