Xbox 360 Disconnects from Xbox Live

Hello.

So for the past month or two my wired Xbox 360 disconnects from Xbox Live as soon as I start a game. I can re-connect while in game but it will only stay connected for 5-10 minutes at a time. But if I stay on the Home page it stays connected indefinitely.

I have tried 2 different modems as well as a few different ethernet cables. I have also run through all troubleshooting tips for Xbox 360 connection issues and none have worked. I also have an Xbox One which has zero connection issues. Any help would be
appreciated as this issue is ridiculous.

Does the whole Xbox 360 disconnect from Xbox Live or just the game drops you to the menu?

If the console disconnects from Xbox Live, do you experience any other online games causing the same issue?

How many consoles do you have connected to this router?

Wired or wireless (for each console):

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Things you have tried:

Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?

Any Error Codes you encounter:

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)?

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”. In the pop-up that appears, what are the following values, if shown? (If a value below does not appear for you, just leave it blank.)

L:

Q:

T:

D:

I am in Ireland.

My modem is one one supplied by my ISP, Eircom. Unsure what the model number is.

I have 2 consoles connected through wired but only ever have one on at a time.

UPnP is unknown.

I am not getting any NAT errors or error codes.

ISP is Eircom.

Have you tried port forwarding the required ports for Xbox Live yet? If not, you can find more information on how to do this and which ports to open

here.

Please let us know how that goes =)

 

So I opened all ports mentioned on the page you linked except for 3074, every time I tried to open it I got an error message. Opening the ports hasn't helped...

 

Ok, I restarted my Xbox and so far it does appear to have worked but I will report back in an hour or two with confirmation. Thank you, Brosky.

I was afraid that was going to happen. Lets try something else.

Could you try the following:

1. Go to the Xbox 360 Dashboard
2. Swipe all the way to the right until you see the Settings tab
   
3. From here, select the System tile > Network Settings > Select your network type
   
4. Hit Configure Network
5. Hit RB on your controller once and select Restore to Factory Defaults

Thanks for posting back.

Could you try
Clearing the System Cache and checking for any corrupted data on your HDD? You can recognize corrupted data by the yellow exclamation point. If you find any corrupted data, please delete it.

 

I deleted 3 corrupt game files and that appears to have done the trick. Didn't think corrupt game files would cause Xbox Live problems. Thank you, Brosky.
