    Xbox 360 disconnects from Xbox live 30 minutes


    Xbox 360 keeps disconnecting to Xbox - every 30 minutes (measurable to the second). Able to manually reconnect seconds later!

    My console is in another room from my Sky Router. I have Cat6 cabling to the Xbox and tested a laptop connected to that cable and see no packet loss or crc errors on the switchport.

    The 30 minutes timeout must mean something.. IP Lease duration would mean DHCP is in use.. but I'm using a static address (192.168.0.100 /24) for my xbox, gateway being the router (192.168.0.1).

    I even thought of UPnP.. (automated port forwarding).. it's definitely enabled on the router. I also forwarded all TCP and UDP ports to .100. No effect. Although the LAG is noticeably better in multiplayer!

    I finally tried to assign .100 to be my DMZ target (hence all traffic inbound to non-assigned TCP/UDP ports are natted to this address). So my Xbox IS my public IP as far as the rest of the world is considered. Xbox live connectivity test all pass - but
    still disconnects. Every 30 minutes!

    Am baffled; any ideas?

    Also it's not random times that I disconnect. It seems to happen every 20-30 minutes. I fully disconnect from Xbox Live altogether.

    Keep disconecting from xbox live and parties at random times

    Hello when i sign in to xbox live my connection is like 3 bars witch is okay but when im in the party ill be in it for like 10 minutes and then everyone will go quite then ill disconnect from the party, then 30 seconds after ill disconnect from xbox live
    and this only occured when i did the latest xbox update Please help???

    Most likely there's a port blocked... ports can be blocked in your router, modem, or at your ISP. Since the Xbox 360 uses different ports than PCs & Macs use, you can't see the effect of a port blockage except on the Xbox. A sequential power cycle is the
    first step in clearing a port blockage:

    1) turn off the Xbox then

    2) unplug the power from the router (Some folks have a combination modem-router AKA 'gateway'. If so, skip step 3).

    3) unplug the power from the modem.

    4) Wait at least 30 secs then replug the modem (or gateway) power.

    5) Wait 'til the light on the front of the modem (or gateway) which says ONLINE, READY, CABLE or DSL is on solid (not flashing), then plug in the router. If you have a gateway instead of a modem and router, then when that light says it's ready, skip step
    6.

    6) Wait until the WiFi light on the router is on; you may not use WiFi, but it's still a good indicator your router is finished booting up.

    7) Turn on the Xbox.

    There could be a number of reasons for a system to intermitently disconnect from the service. Since there are so many possible reasons, here is a list of several steps that you can take to try and resolve the issue:

    - Clear the system cache twice:
    support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

    - Restart your modem and router by unplugging them both for 30 seconds

    - Restore you network settings to factory defaults:
    support.xbox.com/.../error-cant-connect-wireless-network-978945

    - Delete and redownload your gamertag:
    support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

    - Set up port forwarding on the router:
    support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live
