    Xbox 360 Disc Tray and Reading Disc Problems


    I haven't played my Xbox 360 Pro in a couple of years but the other day I decided to boot it up. It starts fine, everything works. I've updated the system and the whole nine yards but my disc tray won't open. It makes the sound to open but doesn't. I used
    the paper clip method to manually pop the tray open but it honestly doesn't work all that well and only opens sometimes. I managed to get a game disc in but it wouldn't read it. I figured that maybe the lens is dirty from sitting for so long so I put in my
    DVD lens cleaner disc and it was able to read that but still no luck on the actual game working.

    I was going to send it back to Microsoft but I'm guessing because it's old now and out of warranty that they no longer repair them.

    Well , Im sorry hear that Your Battlefield 4 not working. Well is your disc tray reading properly? Have you had any problems with your xbox reading discs?

    Xbox Slim beeping noise when reading disk

    Recently I've been experiencing problems with my Xbox 360 Slim disc tray not reading discs. Normally it would just say "Open Tray" when there was a disc currently inside of it. Now, whenever I put in a disk, my Xbox makes this constant beeping noise similar
    to a telegraph machine, but at a lower tone. After the beeping, the spinning disc stops, and I get "Unrecognized Disc" everytime. I am very, very confused and would appreciate any help offered!

    I'm afraid that this issue sounds like there is no way that is supported to get it working again and like you mentioned the model you have is no an option to get it repaired. Sorry for the bad news, but it sounds like the only option is to purchase a new
    console to be able to use discs again. Sorry

    I'm assuming that you're entering an Xbox 360 labeled disc, right? If so: Try taking the disc out and turning off your console. Turn it back on, then push the eject button to open the tray so you can insert the disc. Put the disc in and close the tray. Give
    it a second.

    It should now try to read the disc and if successful will show up under My Xbox, as the first selection. Just press the A button to play the game. Being a new Xbox 360, it shouldn't have problems playing games. If you have anymore problems, don't hesitate
    to ask about them.

    I specified that my console has a BENQ Disc Tray simply because before posting my problem I read through the forums to find similar problems and solutions and it seems everyone with a problem similar to mine has said that they have a BENQ Disc Tray. My Xbox
    360 is a replacement version I received after sending in a console with the RROD to Microsoft. I have made no modifications to the console except for buying a bigger hard drive.

    I deleted and then reinstalled the update and nothing changed. I experience no problems other then the Xbox 360 acts as if there is no disc. I get no error codes, discs spin inside the Xbox, I can open/close my tray just fine.
