Xbox 360 Disc Open Error?

My Xbox has a weird problem that you can't open the disc slot if there is no disc in it, and you will have to grab a fork/butter knife to even open the disc slot. Well, today I was opening it up with the butter knife, and the disc slot case thing wouldn't
let the disc slot open more than half an inch… How would I be able to fix this. (No my warranty period is over)

Are you sure your disc tray is fully closed?

Sometimes an E64 error can be caused by an open / stuck disc tray

Check this tutorial for manually opening your disc tray: Click here

After you tried this, try turning on your xbox again.

Hi,

Contrary to popular belief this is not caused by any sort of Xbox dashboard update. The open tray error signifies an error with your consoles disc drive (hence you receiving an open tray error
when any disc is inserted). You will need to go through the disc drive solution guide located here and if that does not work out for you then
you will need to send your console in for a repair.

I purchased the game from Amazon on July 4, 2011. Received it in the mail on July 11. Opened it up, stuck the disc in too my Xbox. After a few seconds nothing happened. I went to My Xbox panel and even though the disc was in the tray. The My Xbox screen
showed no disc in the system.

I opened and closed the tray again. This time it started up but took a long to for anything to happen. After about a minute or two the game asked me pick a storage device. I did and after which I got the "Disc is Unreadable" error. I checked the disc and
there no scratches on the disc.

No possible way to check on another xbox. I have an older First Generation 360 but my newer 360 S replaces my first gen. As I was starting to get the E74 error.
