    Xbox 360 - disabled display discovery


    Hi. I somehow managed to get in the impossible situation here Xbox 360 - disabled display discovery :( .

    So this is what happened: I accidentally disable "display discovery" in display settings. So now i cant see nothing on monitor and i cant change it back.

    Things i tryed:

    1) standard reset factory settings by controller using Y+RT --- did not work

    2) I tryed a few times get to the settings blindly, but I did not get there and maybe fu** up a bunch of other stuff Xbox 360 - disabled display discovery :D

    NOTE: i dont have upgraded any new DAHBOARD. I play only offline so i have some factory dashboard and never changed it...

    btw: MONITOR is fully functional, and my xbox too Xbox 360 - disabled display discovery :)

    I dont know what else to do. Can someone help me ? thx

    Screen resolution problem!

    Eh, he's saying he's not seeing the option. The 360 shouldn't care with display discovery turned off. It also should not be showing "1600x1024". There's 1680x1050, perhaps, but same thing applies - without display discovery enabled the 360 should allow any
    360-supported resolution to be selected.



    I have a 1680x1050 display I can try hooking a 360 up to in a few days to verify that the 360 doesn't care what's on the other end when display discovery is disabled.

    Thanks for the answer. The situation I described corresponds to display discovery enabled. When display discovery is disabled, I have no sound at all when playing dvds.

    Nevermind Xbox 360 - disabled display discovery :D I figured it out Xbox 360 - disabled display discovery :) I connected xbox with HDMI cable to another monitor and it worked so i restored defauld settings right there Xbox 360 - disabled display discovery :)

    Resetting your display settings should re-enable it. Make sure you're doing it properly.

    the strangest hdmi problem I have ever seen.

    Plug it in over the AV port, then try again over the HDMI port? If Display Discovery on the 360 is enabled, disable it. If it's disabled, enable it.

    XBOX 360 NOT WORKING THROUGH HDMI (WORKS WITH COMPOSITE)

    There are Youtube videos of how to disable or enable it for times when you are blind to your TV's display like this situation. just search Xbox 360 display discovery and follow the onscreen instruction.

    Simply disable "Display Discovery" under the Xbox settings.

    HDMI Connection issue.

    You will need to hook the console up to the tv that it works on and go to the “Settings Hub” on the dashboard then simply follow the below directions to disable the auto discovery mode.







    • Choose System
    • Then Console Settings
    • Display
    • Scroll down to Display Discovery
    • Display Discovery: Turn to Disable
