    Xbox 360 - Digital versions/licence for "Xbox Originals" from Xbox Store


    Just a heads up, a few of the recently released original Xbox games availably digitally for both Xbox 360 & Xbox One are currently unable to be downloaded to Xbox 360, corrupting at around 80%. It appears to be due to the download
    being flagged as an "Xbox 360 Game" on the game page and download list as opposed to "Xbox Originals". This issue has happened before with BloodRayne 2 until recently.



    Breakdown, Conker, Hunter: The Reckoning, Panzer Dragoon Orta, SSX 3 are affected by this. Hopefully this is resolved soon.

    GTA: San Andreas - Original Xbox Version Backwards Compatibility Issues

    I own the Original Xbox version of GTA: San Andreas on a digital download. My Xbox One doesn't recognise this; the game doesn't appear in my "Ready to install" tab and the store is trying to make me pay for it again.

    Why? I own the game, and Microsoft stated the Original Xbox version would "updated" to the Xbox 360 version for backwards compatibility. What's the problem?

    GTA san andreas

    The reason so many are having issues with GTA San Andreas is because it's the Xbox 360 version. Many of us have purchased the original Xbox version on the online Xbox store back in October of 2008.

    The new revamped version was pushed out in October 2014 and our original xbox online versions are not accessible because the Xbox 360 one is the only game available. Please make support for the original Xbox online store version

    Yeah, I recently found this out the hard way when I bought Conker: Live & Reloaded. And Breakdown and Panzer Dragoon Orta were games I was also considering buying! Really hope they fix this ASAP, I like these old Xbox Originals also being available on my
    360, and I'd be happy to buy more of them if they'll download right.

    Oh well, at least Morrowind is working properly. I'm grateful for that.

    If you are running into the issue with downloads as far as we are aware at this time this is not related to the games themselves. We are able to install these titles just fine from consoles we have tested on.

    To help investigate this can you all provide:

    • your NAT type.
    • a picture of your network stats: Settings>Network>Network Settings>Detailed Network Statistics.
    • Are you using an external hard drive?
    • Is the console plugged into a power strip or surge protector?
    Post back and let us know and we will troubleshoot with you!

    More Original Xbox & 360 games compatible for Xbox Series X?

    From the list you made, the following games can never be made BC.

    -The Simpsons: Hit and Run (Original Xbox)

    -Shrek: Superslam (Original Xbox)

    -The Spongebob Squarepants Movie (Original Xbox)

    -Spider Man 2 (Original Xbox)

    -Ultimate Spider Man (Original Xbox)

    -The Simpsons Game (Xbox 360)

    -Spider Man 3 (Xbox 360)

    -The Incredible Hulk (Xbox 360)

    -Narnia: Prince Caspian (Xbox 360)

    -South Park: Lets do Tower Defence (Xbox 360 Arcade)

    The reason is I simple, their licences have expired as they are based off films or TV series. In the case of Spiderman for example, Sony Computer Entertainment is the sole licence holder.

    you can't, when it released it was on 360 first then the xbox one launched not long after with a version for that, there was an upgrade option at the time if moving from xbox 360 to the one.

    if you want the 360 version you will have to buy it as its a different licence.
