Xbox 360 dashboard not updating

The title pretty much says it all. My Xbox 360 dashboard hasn't changed in over 2 weeks, my home still shows Forza Horizon 2 presents Fast & Furious, Play Beyond Gotham, and TMNTotO. I feel like it hasn't changed since my gold auto renewed on 5/12/15.
Also when it auto renewed it shows a transaction for gold renewal but it says $0.00 was taken out, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I'm assuming it will just take the money out when it expires.

As far as the dashboard goes I have tried deleting and re-downloading the system update, deleting and re-downloading my profile, and clearing my system cache 3 times but it hasn't changed. I read somewhere to delete the Marketplace System Data off my hard
drive but I don't want to mess something up. Normally it wouldn't bother me but I can't see the free games with gold updates. Also I'm a member of the preview program, I'm wondering if that could be the problem.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The xbox 360 dashboard doesnt update but when i log into my friends online account on my xbox it has the latest updates, i constantly find myself missing out on free things that all my buddies have. Any help appreciated.

Also, the advertisements you see are tailored to your account based on your activity. Me and my roommate both use the same console, but we get different things showing on the dashboard, and sometimes he gets special offers not available to me and vise versa.

 

The preview program may have something to do with it but I'm not sure. Try using a different Xbox account (gold or not) and see if it changes. (My silver account floods my dashboard with gold advertisements when I login to it). My dashboard never changes
too frequently but never for 2 weeks? I find your problem strange.

 

Yea I have tried signing in on other accounts, it has the gold advertisement but everything else is the same.

 

Well considering you've done pretty much everything I'd suggest already, I advice you wait until a more "technologically" intelligent person makes a post (the moderators or something.) Try waiting until the beginning of next month to see if the new free
game shows up on your dashboard, but other than that I have no idea.

@CheapApples12: Sadly nothing there seemed to help with my problem. I'll probably just let my gold expire and unregister from the preview program to see if it resolves itself after that. If the problem persists after that I'll go about contacting support.

 

Hi, I've seen this before. It's usually the privacy settings on the profile that cause the problem.

Go to settings/ privacy/ change settings/ Customise

Scroll down to Content and select filtering, check that is set to standard.

It's also worth just checking the rest of the settings in there such as is your account set to child rather than adult or custom.

As for deleting the marketplace system data file that won't hurt anything so give that a try if you wish.

 

@EggsBoxJuan: I tried your suggestions, my privacy settings are set to adult and filtering is set to standard. I actually tried switching it to teen and switching filtering to family and then switching it back to adult/standard to see if that fixed it, my
dashboard hasn't changed as of now but I don't know if it will take time to go into effect or not.

I also deleted my Marketplace System Data and restarted my console but the dashboard is still the same. It's funny you mention filtering because now that I think about it my dashboard does seem to be displaying family-oriented content like Lego and SpongeBob
games and under music it's showing things like Kids Bop 28 and Ariana Grande.

 

If you look in system items on the xbox do you see a content cache file? If so delete that.

I'm clutching at straws now but assuming everything is set correctly on your profile could you again delete the profile, clear the system cache three times yes three times, restart the xbox and download your profile again.

 

I'm having the same problem with the exact same things showing on my dashboard. Doesn't seem like it a console thing to me. I did have to re-register and that seems to be when this all started.

 

@EggsBoxJuan: I did have a content cache file in my system items, I deleted that and did everything you suggested step by step, sadly it still hasn't changed. Judging by The McGuffin's comment it sounds like it may be a problem with the preview program.

@The McGuffin: Sorry that you're having this problem also but I am glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. Hopefully Microsoft gets it figured out. My dashboard just did it out of the blue I didn't have to re-register but I did unregister
last night in hopes of solving the problem. If they do get it figured out hopefully my unregistering doesn't mean I can't get it fixed.

 

Having taken a look over on the preview forums it is indeed a known issue which is being worked on. So until that is fixed no amount of tinkering will fix it.
