xbox 360 crashs/freezing when connected to internet.

Hello i've started to have issues with my sons xbox 360 freezing/crashing. I tried everything to fix it. take out hard drive . wipe hard drive its been taken to pieces and cleaned. I've put a fan directed on it to keep cool. I gave in and bought my firends off him as didnt have time to keep trying to fix it. this one didn't have wifi so my son had only been playing games offline. all was fine until i added a xbox wifi usb addon in and now when ever its connectng to the internet it crashes doing updates. now i know its a internet/ xbox live issue so tried the old xbox without any internet connection and that on is fine as well. but now im stuck. what can i do to fix this. hope there is a tech wizzard out there that is better help than trying to actually speak to anyone at microsoft!!!!!!!!!!! please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try the following to see if it fixes the issue;

- Press the Guide button  on your controller, select Settings, and select System Settings.

- Select Network Settings.

- Select the name of your wireless network when the network list is displayed.

- Select Configure Network.

- On the Additional Settings tab, select Restore to Factory Defaults.

If that doesn't help, then you might want to perform an offline update on the console to refresh the OS.

There are several points of troubleshooting to go through with us. The first is to go to GameStop or somewhere and get another USB wireless adapter. It is possible that the unit is faulty. The second thing I would try is a different hard drive.

The real problem is that Xbox 360 hardware is getting old, and components like capacitors are being in the fail. If it’s not the hard drive, it is likely some internal component like a capacitor that is failing and causing the crashes. I’m afraid I don’t have a lot of good answers for you.

Then you must clear the system cache and delete the intrenet explorer knife re-download the app and see this as your internet connection for when the internet is not cool can crash your xbox 360 console

Hi okay with you? See if this loose the HD game, the xbox 360 off and without cables remove the HD and put firmly back after this and see if it improved after you will clear the system cache and will see this as your internet connection remembering that
if it fails to internet xbox 360 can freeze, give lag and even crash the console I hope I helped and if possible post it was solved or not so that we can help you again

That doesnt make any sense - You dont pay for a Xbox 360 and expect the ethernet not to work - Right?

I reset the router to factory defaults and it still freezes when connected via ethernet

I manually configured the internet setup on the xbox and it still freezes via ethernet

When I disconnect ethernet and connect to network via WiFi it does not freeze

What is causing the ethernet connection to make the xbox freeze?

I am racking my brain and cannot figure this out!
