    I purchased 4 new xbox 360 controllers to game on windows 10.

    I purchased the wireless accessory as well from MS.

    I've attempted the sync several times on several pc's (one a Surface Pro 3).

    I have 4 controllers and I've tried 2 so far

    I press the Guide button to turn it on, press the sync button on the controller, then press the button on the wireless dongle.

    The controller lights and dongle lights blink for a while, then eventually stop.

    Neither controller is detected in steam.

    Purchased a cable, plug it in, device manager installs the xbox 360 peripheral driver, looks like everything is working.

    Pull up Steam, can't detect controller, try these same steps on 3 different computers with 3 different steam accounts with the exact same results.

    I tried reinstalling the drivers manually

    I tried using an older driver

    I tied the windows 7 xbox accessory program

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks for the reply,

    Yes all pc's are fully up to date, no errors on updates.

    Looking at your link, I move the usb connector to different ports just now, both usb3 and usb 2. Same results.

    Are your computers up to date on windows 10? If not, make sure they're updated and try again. I've provided a link that may help, if you haven't already found it.

    getting this on a couple of PC's with bluetooth 4.0 (asus usb-bt400 dongle, fyi) on the new s controller

    Was not affecting my surface pro 3 running the insider preview build of win10 pro.

    Was affecting other ppc running win10 pro on release build.

    3rd PC running win 10 home also affected.

    tested all 3 with same bluetooth dongle. surface pro not affected and working as expected.

    Updated both other machines to the insider preview build 14393.10 and connected everything back up again.

    Issue is now only affecting the windows 10 home PC. Suspect that the issue is fixed in 14393.10 for win10 pro, but not home.

    I am using the same MS account on all my devices. Alphajax runs fine on my WP8, my desktop PC running Windows 8.1, my Surface Pro 2. It's only not working on my personal Surface 2 running Windows RT 8.1. Yes, I have launched Windows Store, Xbox Games, and
    done everything I can think of to get this to work. I only have my one personal MS account on all these devices.

    Correction: this is NOT working on a Surface Pro 3. Interestingly on my Surface Pro 3 the app was still open from last night so it looked like it was working. After closing it and trying to launch it again, I now have the same instant crash issue on this
