To use a Dual Shock 4 PS4 controller on Windows and have it work outside of Steam requires third party software such as DS4 Windows. This should affectively fool Windows into thinking your PS4 controller is a 360 controller and should allow it be used in all games.

Thanks for the reply. In reference to the Xbox 360 controller, The Xbox 360 Controller for Windows is designed to work on Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) and later versions of Windows.

Make sure the controller software has been installed. The controller requires a driver to work on a Windows-based PC. A disc that contains the driver is included with the controller. You can also download the driver from the

Microsoft Hardware website.
