xbox 360 controller out of order

I found the answer! On the Xbox 360, in order to pull up the invite/party/system menu, you pressed on the "Guide" button or the xbox symbol button on the controller. On the Xbox One controller, that button is reserved to return to the "Home" part of the
interface.... so, I found out that in order to bring up the 360 menu you need to press both the "View" and the "Guide" buttons simultaneously! From there, you invite or join players in the Xbox 360 virtual machine.

I suggest you to check out this xbox support link in order to locate the problem with your controller:

After locating the issue it will be easier to find a solution

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. I have split your post into its own thread in order to help you out directly. What version of Windows are you on? In order for the controller to function, your USB ports must be 2.0 or 3.0

If your Xbox 360 wired controller is not detected by your PC, try plugging it into a different USB port, and then test it again.

You may also have to refer to your game documentation for information about how to configure the Xbox 360 controller for a specific game.
