Xbox 360 controller on Windows 10

    Xbox 360 controller on Windows 10


    Installed Win 10 over Win 7, now currently OS build 19041.329

    I'm having a rather peculiar issue with my Wireless 360 controller not being recognised by my PC or installing in any way.

    I've done all the usual steps to troubleshoot:

    Downloaded the xbox accessories installer from microsoft

    Used device manager to update the driver manually

    Uninstalled/Installed drivers manually by browsing and selecting the files

    Clean or refreshed (whatever it's called) Win 10

    Followed a million guides on how to install it

    It starts off with the same warning triangle you can see on the PCI above it but when I install the drivers the triangle just goes away. Even though it says installed successfully when I check it it's as above but nothing has been installed.

    I've checked and it works on my laptop (also Win 10) although the driver options were different and i got this:

    Clicked the last option and instantly set up & working fine.

    On the PC I get these options:

    (Tried them all, none work)

    It instantly connects on my laptop with no issue, all other USB devices work normally so it's not a USB driver issue & the reciever and the controller sync up it just isn't useable.

    I'm not sure if I've missed something or if anyone knows of a way to delete the driver install options on the PC and get the default ones (like with the laptop) I'd appreciate the help as my sanity is waning at this point.

    Are you sure the Xbox 360 is a wired Xbox 360 controller, and not connected by a separate cable like the play and charge cable? If it is the play and charge cable, it will not work on Windows 10, as it only charges the batteries on a PC. If it is a actual
    wired controller, then Windows 10 should detect and then download the drivers if needed.
