Xbox 360 Controller not working

    Xbox 360 Controller not working


    Hi there,

    I have been trying to connect my X-Box controller (by cable) for days without success...

    Even though the controller is properly showing up in the device manager and as a device in the settings, I can't use it to e. g. control my movement in a game. It is not being recognized by Gamepad Tester and I also tried using Windows D4 to make it work. I have tried to uninstall the drivers and install them again, I have even tried 5 different Xbox 360 controllers without success. I went through all the steps being suggested in all the threads I found online about this topic, I can't seem to figure out the problem.
    I feel like it is some kind of problem with my computer or windows itself since I have also tried a 3rd Party controller that doesn't seem to be working in any games as well - That controller however was detected by Gamepad Tester and all buttons are working.

    Any clue what's going on? I don't want to reset my computer since I just built it last year and have a lot going on at the moment. If anyone here has an idea what I could still do, I would be very happy about that Xbox 360 Controller not working :)

    Wireless controls

    Hi there,

    A 360 controller will work with a 360 console, and an Xbox one controller will work with an Xbox One, but a 360 controller will not work with an Xbox One and vice versa.

    That controller is not supported by the Xbox 360. To my knowledge there are no wheels or controllers from Logitech that work on the Xbox 360 Platform.

    With the Xbox 360 controller, it only sent data wirelessly. The charging cable was only used to charge rechargeable batteries on the controller, and does not send data over the wire for the controller. You would need the Xbox 360 wireless controller
    adapter (usb dongle) to connect. If the 360 controller was wired natively then that would work, but the default controllers only worked wirelessly.

    Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. Is the controller an Xbox 360 controller. The Xbox one controllers will not work on an Xbox 360. Also, is the controller old, brand new?
