xbox 360 controller not working,

Im trying to connect my xbox 360 controller to my pc, It shows 1 green light at the controller, Shows up in Device manager, Shows up in Devices and printers, But doens't show up at 'joy.cpl'. Can someone help me please with this problem?

Was it the official Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller? For the Xbox 360 wireless controller, an adapter is required. For Xbox One, the original Xbox One controller will only work when wired. For the One S controller, you can connect it via bluetooth.

 

Did MS design Xbox without this key feature the 360 had?

I hate the design of the Xbox one controller so I'm using my 360 controller, CronusMax, and a Xbox wireless extender. Hence, I cannot use any headset unless my Xbox 360 headset will work if I plug it into the controller.

 

What operating system are you running?

 

Are you doing wired or wireless with an adapter?

 

Wired. I installed a windows 7 driver i don't know if that's the problem?

 

That's the latest one I could find on the website too. I know it shows up in the the Devices page. Does any game recognize it?

If that doesn't work I would contact Xbox Support chat to see if they might have answer because I'm fairly certain it isn't the driver but maybe they have a better answer then the articles.
