Xbox 360 Controller for Windows not reassigning on Xbox 360

I have connected 2, Wired Xbox 360 Controller for Windows to my Xbox 360 S. They are both stuck in player 1 config. While those 2 wired controllers remain connected, I connect my Wireless controller to the 360. it positions itself to player 2 perfectly. Is
there some work around to this annoying problem? I am unable to play Blur 4 player because of this problem.

Hey Optiores2! Is the Xbox 360 controller you are using wired or a wireless controller connected through a Charge and Play kit? The Charge and Play kit will not enable a wireless Xbox 360 controller to be used on a Windows device. For full details check

Have you tried plugging the controllers into different USB ports on your Xbox 360 S to see if there is any change in connection? They shouldn't both be connecting to Play 1, be sure they're signed into different profiles when connecting to Xbox Live.

 

Yes I tried various ports and I also tried to connect in various orders such as Player 1 (P1) - Wired Xbox 360 Controller for Windows and Signed In, P2 = Wireless Xbox 360 Controller and Signed In but when connecting the third one for P3 - Wired Xbox 360
Controller for Windows it assigns as P1 and takes control away from the first assigned controller.

Sounds super odd. Do you possibly have a different controller you can test? That would help narrow this down to being a controller or console issue.

Yes I have tried with other Controllers over the weekend. I have an old malfunctioning Wired Xbox 360 Controller (not Controller for Windows, malfunction is due to the LB button that does not work properly), which works as expected, meaning it signs in and
allows me to play with 3 players (1 Wireless, 1 Wired Xbox, 1 Wired Xbox for Windows). However with the wired Xbox 360 Controller for Windows (1 wireless + 2 wired Xbox for Windows), it has the problems I mentioned earlier.

It sounds like the issue comes down to the controller if that's the case. While I understand it may be frustrating, a replacement is going to be your best option to get you back to playing with multiple controllers properly.
