    Xbox 360 controller defective and xbox chat service won't start on any browser


    My 360 controller disconnects when the cable is touched or moved, I'm certain a wire within the cable at the point of connection with the controller is damaged. I'm unable to get help from Microsoft Xbox service with this because the chat won't start because
    the boxes for the required info, name, are grayed out. I chatted with normal microsoft service and they wasted hours of my time troubleshooting browsers, nothing fixed the error and they wouldn't redirect chat or let me know who to email.

    Xbox one backwards compatible chat with 360.

    You do not have to be playing the same game, just any Backward Compatible game so the 360 interface loads. Press the View and Menu buttons on the Xbox One controller to open the 360 guide, and you can start a party chat from there. You could suggest/vote

    Can you turn the console off and
    remove the hard drive from the console    ?

    After removing the hard drive, try starting the console. Does it start now? Then the hard drive became corrupted, during the format. Check that the hard drive is really an original Xbox 360 hard drive, and not a third party Xbox 360 compatible hard drive.

    If the console still shows a solid red light check your TV, if it shows an error message.

    If an error message is shown, please post the exact wording.

    If the console still doesn't boot up, it might be defective. However, Microsoft stopped servicing Xbox 360 consoles, so you won't get it repaired anymore.

    I´m trying to start a chat, but when I have to insert my first and last name the field appears in grey and I can´t modify it, so I cannot start the chat XD. I have tried two computers, 3 browsers, and also the xbox´s browser and I find the same problem.
