Xbox 360 Controller connetion to my PC

So I have some Xbox 360 controllers and i would like to use one to play some games on my PC but I can't connect it, so it is only charged when i am connecting it with a USB cable. I tried many different things, like device manager, maybe I didn't have the drivers, but when I am getting to Xbox 360 Peripherals it is only shown Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via play and Charge Kit. I tried to upgrade the drivers but its saying its up to date but i still cant use the controller. I tried to find a program or so in the Microsoft app store but nothing about Xbox 360 controller. Like i know there is a device that you can connect it wireless (at least back in the day there was one I don't know if there still one, too lazy to look at it) , but I would like to use it with the cable, I don't want to buy now a new device for it. So is there a way to connect a Xbox controller with wire to my PC? Do i need to download a program for that? If yes where can i download that kind of program that is a secure source?

What you need is the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller driver. It is no longer available on the Microsoft store so you have to search for it and download it from open source. Sadly I don't trust any if the websites enough to share a direct link. Once you install that, you should be good to go.

yes, the first time I connet it with my pc is start update already

The same is happening to me, my xbox one controller's "X" button will also be activivated turning my console on random times of the day. It does not do this when conneted wired.Please help!
