XBOX 360 controller and Windows 10 PC

    Good Evening,

    I have trawled many forums but still cannot find the answer... I am trying to connect my XBOX 360 wired controller to a Windows 10 laptop.

    When I plug it in, the laptop makes its usual connection noise. When I press in XBOX button it lights up and begins to flash... the flash then continues until I unplug it.

    I have the latest drivers installed and Windows 10 is up to date. I have tried unistalling from the "Device Manager" settings and letting it reinstall but still no luck.

    It works perfectly fine on the XBOX 360.

    Can anyone advise on why I cannot get it to work?

    Are you sure the Xbox 360 is a wired Xbox 360 controller, and not connected by a separate cable like the play and charge cable? If it is the play and charge cable, it will not work on Windows 10, as it only charges the batteries on a PC. If it is a actual
    wired controller, then Windows 10 should detect and then download the drivers if needed.

    Are you trying to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to your Windows 10 PC or is it a wired controller? If it's a wired one, here are the steps to

    calibrate your controller with your Windows PC.     You'll want to follow those steps and be sure that everything is set up correctly and try again.

    Yup. Xbox One controllers are built a bit poorly.

    If it's convenient to you i'd recommend using an Xbox 360 controller on a Windows 10 PC and stream your console to the PC using the Xbox app.
