xbox 360 console keeps freezing

when I start my console up I go to play skyrim for a few hours then it freezes and my xbox just started doing that when battlefield 4 came out so I clean my xbox yesterday (3/5/14) to see if that was the problem but its still freezing can anybody help me
with this problem.

Xbox 360 freezing problem

My xbox 360 keeps on freezing when i'm playing games like Minecraft , Halo 4 and Battlefield 4 it mostly happens when I'm playing online via xbox live, I tried switching the consoles over but the freezing continues

 

Skyrim is riddled with bugs and glitches and the fact the 360 has only 512mb of cache memory doesnt help. I dont think its your console.I think the fact its a Besthesda game is your problem.Not saying its not an awesome game.But the persisent bugs that are
pervasive in Fallout and Skyrim render them unplayable at times.I think they use too much ram.

 

Is it only happening in Skyrim? My brother ran into a similar issue and needed to start a new character. You're probably having the same problem.

 

Yep the game is probably the culprit. My console also randomly freezes sometimes when playing skyrim as well as playing Fallout New vegas. Although New Vegas has locked up my Xbox more. I usually wipe my system cache to fix the problem but it only works
for a short time till it plays up again. I don't own Battlefield 4 nor played it but from what I have heard about it around the web it is also prone to freeze and crash your console. With Bethesda games just be sure to save constantly and don't have to many
saves saved to your console as even that can cause problems.

 

I have used a lens cleaner and it helps ,but you have to do it every month or so.Now if it gets really dusty it will also cause it to happen as well,the reason is the laser reads the disc and send the information to brain of the Xbox to remember now if it
dusty last fame segment will be displayed causing to stop at that point. Its causing the signal to be block and not reach the output correctly causing 1. freeze and move display,2.complete freeze of display or in many cases a black or green screen.

 

You should never really use a dvd disc based lens cleaner in an Xbox 360 drive. The lens cleaners are designed to work only in dvd players..

 

^You do realize the 360 has a dvd drive and plays dvd and that the games are on dvd? I dont think disc read issues cause freezes and console crashes.Just a message telling you to clean your disc.I have Skyrim digital download that freezes my console constantly.On
one part of the map the framerate drops to about 3 of 4 frames/second which renders the game unplayable.Fallout 3 as well.

 

Yes but the workings of the drive are different to the workings of a dvd players drive. A friend of mine used one on his console once and it completely wrecked his Xboxes dvd drive. Whether it scratched the laser lens or put the mechanism out of alignment
we don't know the console no longer could play games or dvd movies. It is not always dust or scratches that cause problems it can be buggy game code.
